Water is the guiding theme on the premium hiking trail Brunnen- und Quellenweg. Via the Biosphere Trail, the premium trail initially leads into the Spießwoog valley to the Klosterweiher. Fish ponds are passed as well as the springs in the Deckental and Schlettenbacher valley.

A short break is recommended at Roßbrunnen before the ascent to the natural monument rock formation Hohle Felsen begins. From the height it goes again down into the water-rich valley to Fischbrunnen. The following route through the nature reserve Wolfsäger valley and Sauertal is characterized by untouched nature. The circular route finally leads through the biosphere park, past the chapel St. Ulrich back to the Biosphere House, the starting point of the hike.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, attention must be paid to the fact that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may fall afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, there can be muddy and slippery sections on natural paths. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is required in places. You must expect such trail impairments when you go hiking. If you believe that certain sections are impassable for you, you should bypass them. Despite the “non-missable” marking of the premium trails, we recommend always having an appropriate hiking map with you for safety reasons, so that you can quickly find a safe area in case of thunderstorm or emergency.
